The hotel, part of the "small luxury hotels in the world" and inaugurated in 1999, is nestled in an impressive building from 1870 build by the mocenigo family, whose various members were doges of the republic of venice. the building presents a neo-gothic style with pointed arches and double lancet windows, reminiscent of the buildings along the "grand canal". the interior depicts classical decoration together with works of art. in addition, it features services and amenities such as restaurant, american themed bar with terrace, piano bar, wi-fi access in public areas, gym, bathrobe and slippers.
